Happy Grieving

Faith, meaning and signs

After a death, the questions get very large, very fast.

Some people lose their faith in a single afternoon. Some find it. Most land somewhere in between, half believing, wanting the butterfly to mean something and not quite able to say it does. And nearly everyone starts keeping signs: the song, the number on the clock, the feather on the doormat.

These pieces hold all of that lightly. They will not tell you there is an afterlife, and they will not tell you there isn't. They are about the meaning grievers make, the bonds they keep, and the small private rituals that carry a little of the love that no longer has anywhere to go.

Whether it is really them or only your love looking for somewhere to land, the comfort is real, and the comfort is allowed.
